Kids Place is a High Five-5th grade after school program that is open Monday-Friday, 1:45pm-6:00pm, on school days. Kids’ Place is affiliated with Minneapolis Public Schools and is an authorized Area Learning Center. Kids’ Place has an enrollment of 55 children. The children are divided into classes based on grade level and/or academic ability. The children receive homework help, academic skill instruction based on the Minneapolis Public School standards, and participate in recreational activities like ceramics, dance club, piano lessons, and gym.

Youth Village is a 6th-8th grade after school program that is open Monday-Friday, 1:45pm-6:00pm, on school days. Youth Village has an enrollment of 15 youth. Youth Village offers homework help and academic instruction through real world experiences. The youth receive practical instruction in multimedia and technology areas, including, making movies, music videos, and shows, multimedia presentations, posters, brochures, and newsletters.

Summer Kids is an eight week Pre-Kindergarten-6th grade summer program open Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-4:30pm. The enrollment for Summer Kids is 100 children. Children are split into six classes according to grade and/or academic ability. The children receive instruction in basic academic skills, art, and the community garden. We provide recreational activities and go on a weekly field trip. We serve breakfast, lunch, and a small snack to all children in Summer Kids.

Children's Garden is in partnership with the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It provides the children in the Summer Kids program with an opportunity to learn about gardening through planting, maintaining, and harvesting herbs, vegetables, and flowers. At the end of the summer the children harvest the produce and share it with their family.

Youth Staff is a program offering employment to middle school and high school students in the Phillips Neighborhood. We provide them with job skills in an environment they can be proud of. We offer year round employment as Teacher’s Assistants, and seasonal employment as an Office Assistant or City Fresh community gardener during the summer. The garden workers grow produce to be sold at local restaurants, receive an hourly wage, and a commissions check at the end of the summer for the produce they sold.

Families Together is a program offered during the school year to encourage families to participate in an activity with their children, and to get acquainted with Kaleidoscope staff and other families in the program. The families share a meal and participate in activities including ceramics, plays, roller skating, and visits to the Science Museum of Minnesota.
