The Center for Changing Lives
The Center for Changing Lives is a partnership of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, Messiah Lutheran Church, and Kaleidoscope Place. With many services under one roof, along with other collaborations, community members have the opportunity to serve and be served. This center represents a successful blending of people, skills, passions and expertise into urban outreach so that people can live and work in community with dignity, safety and hope. The following services are available at the Center for Changing Lives for individuals, families, and their children.
- The Center Café – First Floor
Open Monday through Friday 9am – 1pm. The Center Café provides affordable healthy snacks and lunches.
- Lampein Consulting Group, Inc. – Second Floor
Dedicated to empowering individuals, couples, families and organizations to transform lives from the inside life. They focus on empowering formerly homeless families, offering leadership in building staff capacity as they work with families experiencing mental and chemical health issues. 612-388-9525 or www.lampein.com
- Kaleidoscope Place – First Floor
Kaleidoscope Place offers highly affordable out-of-school time care for students in High Five through 8th grade during the summer and school year. They also provide youth employment positions for students age 12 through 21. - Southside Child Development Center – First Floor
Reaching Higher for Quality Early Learning. Their program mission is “to give children a safe, fun, healthy, and caring place to be. We want to create an environment that children and families feel welcome and trust our program will have their child’s interest at heart.” They provide day care for children 2 months old to 12 years old. 612-545-5248
- Messiah Lutheran Church – First Floor
Provide a Christ-centered worship center and spiritual care ministry for the health, hope and well-being of Phillips Neighborhood residents. - Phillips West Neighborhood Organization – Second Floor

- Q-Health/An outreach arm of Southside Community Health Services – Second Floor
A federally qualified Health Center with medical and dental clinics in Minneapolis and Stillwater. Together and in new partnerships, they seek to identify community health needs and develop strategic and proactive initiatives to improve health and literacy and the overall health and wellness of the community. www.qhealthservices.org
- Suitably Yours – First Floor
Provides business clothing for women seeking a job interview or for daily business attire. Women are assisted by a personal shopper and vouchers are issued for one to three complete outfits. Suitably Yours is a ministry of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. www.mtolivet.org
- LSS Adoption Services – Third Floor
Finds loving adoptive families for children here and around the world. www.minnesotaadoption.org
- LSS Counseling and Family Resources – Third Floor
Offers mental health counseling for people of all ages who need help with anxiety and depression, relationships, spiritual concerns, family changes, communication issues and abuse. 612-879-5320 or www.lssmn.org
- LSS Employment Services – Second Floor
Promoting economic self-sufficiency through employment. Services offered: Job search assistance, employment counseling, soft skills/re-employment readiness training, employment retention and supported work placement. www.lssmn.org
- LSS Financial Counseling – First Floor

- MN C.O.R.E./Case Management, Outreach, Referral, and Education for Veteran/Military Families – Second Floor
MN C.O.R.E. is a joint partnership with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS). MN C.O.R.E. offers confidential, flexible, free services 24/7 to veterans and military personnel and their families. 1-888-881-6261 or www.lssmn.org
- LSS Pregnancy Counseling and Birth Parent Services – Third Floor

- LSS Refugee Services – Second Floor
Bilingual/bicultural staff help refugees resettle in the U.S. and assimilate successfully into their new environment. Helps refugees with their immigration status, resettlement, and provides social services to new refugee arrivals. 612-879-5338 or www.lssmn.org
- LSS Youth and Family Resources – Third Floor
- Nurturing Parents & Children: 612-879-5254. Offers support groups, workshops regarding teen pregnancy prevention, truancy intervention, and support to end domestic violence. Provides parenting groups, classes, and home visits that give information, support and resources to help families build healthy relationships.
- Grand Family Connection: 612-879-5328. Counseling and support services for grandparents and others who are raising children of relatives.
- Park Avenue Apartments
