Annual Holiday Appeal

We were incredibly blessed last year during our Holiday Appeal. We are so grateful for each and every one of you that gave from your heart. In the great search for significance, you became heroes for the children who come back year after year to Kaleidoscope. Suffice it to say, You Are Significant! Your generosity was off the charts. Again, it is that time of year for our annual Holiday Appeal. Please take a moment to read through our Holiday Appeal 2011 and consider our children. Are you ready to soar to new heights? You can donate online by clicking the piggy bank below or by printing out the Holiday Appeal and sending in the form with your check. We anxiously await the miraculous!

Individual Donations

Can your donation make a difference? The answer is overwhelmingly “YES!” All of our programs cost very little to participants. Kaleidoscope relies on contributions from individuals and organizations to run our programs. So, does your contribution make a difference? You bet it does! Please see the Sponsorships section for more detailed information on sponsorship opportunities.

Friendraisers

Kaleidoscope Place is a small nonprofit organization and we are always looking for ways to increase our circle of friends, supporters, and volunteers. One unique way you can help us do this is by hosting a Kaleidoscope Friendraiser. It’s easy! Invite a group of your friends, colleagues, or members of your faith-based community over to share a meal. Then, share with them the mission, goals, and wonderful work we do with children and youth at Kaleidoscope. Ask them how they are willing to share in your passion for Kaleidoscope. Whether it is sponsoring a donation drive, signing up to volunteer, and/or making a financial contribution to Kaleidoscope you will be helping us to extend the reach of Kaleidoscope and its community. You can also request that Kaleidoscope Place staff and/or Board Members join you for your event so they can share their experiences and passion at your Friendraiser. We would love to talk about what we do!

Donation Drives

At Kaleidoscope we are always in need of supplies that we use on a daily basis, such as, healthy snacks and beverages, culturally specific children’s books, cleaning supplies, arts and crafts materials and supplies, and clothing and underwear. Help us to obtain these much needed items by organizing a donation drive. One easy way to coordinate a donation drive for Kaleidoscope is by asking family, friends, and colleagues to bring an item, such as, a prepackaged healthy snack or juice boxes, to the next event you may be organizing or hosting. For example, at your child’s next birthday party request that the invitees bring a donation for Kaleidoscope Place. This is a great way to keep our supplies needs full!

Children’s Photography

“The Colors of Phillips” children’s photography project was completed in March 2010, just before our Spring Benefit. If you love photography, then you will love these thought provoking photographs that were taken by the Kaleidoscope Place children. Purchasing a child’s photograph is a wonderful way to support our programming, as well as, encourage our blooming artists. Just think of how proud they will feel when they learn that someone purchased a photo that they took! …and wait till you see the photos…

Riding the Great Divide for Kaleidoscope Place

Here is a real life, creative example of how one individual is using the power of GiveMN.org: What do Kaleidoscope Place and the Great Divide have in common? Timothy Davis!

In 2006, Tim biked the first half of the Great Divide. He had always planned on finishing it and that became a reality in the summer of 2010. He wanted to make the final 1,500 miles up the northern trek more than just a ride. He wanted the ride to make a difference. He got in contact with Kaleidoscope and then set up a fundraising profile on GiveMN.org called “Riding the Great Divide for Kaleidoscope” to raise money for our Summer Kids program.

We interviewed Tim and then wrote about his journey in our Winter 2010 newsletter. At the time of writing the article he was still about $300 short of his $2,000 fundraising goal. Well, a reader of our Winter newsletter was so inspired by Tim Davis’ story and journey that they donated the remaining amount! How fantastic!

Congratulations Tim on accomplishing your ultimate goal of biking the 2,500 miles of the Great Divide and raising $2,000 for our Summer Kids program! You Are Awesome! Thank you for including us in your journey! We are eternally grateful for you!
